Bass Amps? I play drums, but my brother plays bass, and we're looking into getting a new amp, and with how expensive they can get, we want to research before we commit anything, and frankly, we have no idea where to start looking. What are come good bass amp companies, and do vacuum tubes play as much a part in bass amps as much as in normal amps? So many questions...

What are the advantages of tube bass amps to a solid-state bass amps? I'm about to buy a new Ampeg bass amplifier. The amp i'm interested in come in a sold-state version and tube version, and are almost the same cost. I play with a Fender V-Jazz Bass, if that makes a difference. What are the advantages and disadvantages of tube amps and solid-state amps?

How much does a good bass guitar plus amps cost? I don't really have a price limit, but I just want to know the range of prices for a pretty high quality bass + amps, or range of prices people usually pay for basses. Also, what kind of brands of bass would you recommend? I've been playing acoustic guitar for 3 years and love it, and for the bass players out there, how does the bass compare to the guitar? harder? easier? just curious. Do all orange amplifiers double as bass amps? My roommate told me that all orange amps double as bass amps as well. I told him that they couldn't because of the tubes inside it and that the wattage would be far too limited to pump out the hertz of a bass. Buying Component System for car (including amps, bass blockers, etc)? I already have a 4 channel amp that is powering my subs, and I want to add some component speakers to get better quality mids and highs. Of course I am on a budget, so I was concidering getting something like this: Speakers: Clarion Phaze 1 SRS1326 (40 watts RMS, 200 max) 5 1/4" (http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLASRS1326?vq_id=none) Amplifier (2x): Clarion APX2120 2-channel amp (60 watt x 2) I want to put a pair in the front in some kick panels, and a pair in the rear deck. The speakers are 40 watts RMS, and the amps are 60 watts RMS, but they say its usually better to overpower than underpower, and 20 watts to me doesnt seem like enough to ruin the speakers, specially when their max is 200 watts. My head unit is a Jensen DVD receiver, and is 40 watts max per channel, so i dont think it could deliver to the speakers. I was also thinkin about putting some bass blockers since I have subs, but the ones on crutchfield says 50 watts max, so would the amp ruin em?
