Amplifier??

I have a Crunch 1500 watt amplifier hooked up to a BMW 1.5 farad cap. I also have 2 P3's wired down to 1 ohm. Sometimes when I turn on my car the lights to the amplifier come on and evertything seems as if its working but it takes a while for the speakers to kick in... like theres some type of delay. Sometimes the time varies from 5 minutes to 20.. Why is this happening? is it my amp or my cap or my alternator??
